I am a problem-solver at heart, driven by insatiable curiosity and a natural inclination to find solutions. I am constantly seeking ways to make things more efficient while expressing creativity and expanding my knowledge.
During my years in middle school and beyond, I found great satisfaction in helping friends and family plan their special events. From researching and coordinating to managing logistics, I enjoyed taking on the responsibility of ensuring that others could relax and enjoy their experiences. The joy I felt being a part of someone's happiness fueled my passion for coordination and organization.
In spite of the fact that I did not pursue a career in event planning, I chose to work in project management, which allowed me to combine both my engineering background and my love of coordination. It's taught me how to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, empathize with people, identify goals and needs, communicate effectively, and find solutions to a wide range of problems.
How did I get into UX/UI Design?
Something that I truly enjoyed throughout all the different experiences I’ve had are the meaningful interactions with the people that I work with. Additionally, I wish to use my creativity in a more imaginative field. As a consequence of my realization, I chose to pursue this new path into UX/UI Design where I could utilize both of my passions in a new purposeful way. At its core, user experience design is about solving problems. Ux designers need to be able to find and fix problems - no matter how small it is. I want to explore design through the emotional, functional, and aesthetic spectrums and have the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
When I'm not working, I'm exploring the world and expanding my horizons through learning. Whether it's trying out new recipes in the kitchen, exploring new cultures and perspectives, or diving into a new design trend, I'm always eager to expand my knowledge and skillset. I'm also an active cohost/volunteer in various Vancouver tech communities, where I connect and collaborate with like-minded individuals. You can find me engaging in these vibrant tech circles.
